With the release of the latest trailer, it’s official that Megan Fox is joining the roster of soon-to-be-released Mortal Kombat 1. The actress has been cast as the voice behind the nightmarish vampire character, named Nitara. Mortal Kombat 1 is an upcoming PvP fighting game published by Warner Bros. Games and developed by NetherRealm Studios. This installment is the 12th one after the Mortal Kombat 11 but serves as a reboot to the series.
It seems like Megan Fox was not only familiar with this franchise but actively followed it throughout her childhood. In a press release statement, she revealed,
“I grew up playing Mortal Kombat and I can’t believe that I’m voicing a character in the new game. It’s an honor to be a part of one of the greatest video game legacies of all time.”
About Nitara
The queen of Outworld, Nitara is a deadly creature who depends on the blood of her victims to remain alive. Her blood-sucking characteristic also makes her seem like a vampire, but she is far more brutal than your standard textbook vampire. Although she may seem like it, she is not necessarily evil but upright. She only cares about her realm and will do anything, morally right or wrong, to save her realm.
Nitara has been part of this franchise since 2002 in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Since then, her appearance has shifted a little, and here is how she looks in the latest trailer.
As this character of Nitara in Mortal Kombat 1 is a blood-sucking vampire, Megan Fox jokingly pointed out that her being a vampire “resonates for whatever reason“. This statement is for true Megan Fox fans, as it is a nod to her vampire character in Jennifer’s Body.
Mortal Kombat 1 is all set to release on 14th September 2023. The platforms included for its release are PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X and Series S.
