ICYMI, Hollow Knight: Silksong has been delayed

If you have played the original Hollow Knight, you must know what kind of a gem that game was and what potential the sequel holds. Ever since, Hollow Knight: Silksong has been announced, (precisely on 14th February 2019, it’s been quite some time) the anticipation has continuously grown. However, it seems now we still won’t be getting our hands on this marvelous metroidvania game in the first half of 2023 as was previously planned because Hollow Knight: Silksong has been officially delayed.

Silksong was estimated to finally come out in the first half of this year as suggested by Xbox’s official Twitter account via a tweet. But now, yet again, in a tweet by Matthew Griffin who is apparently responsible for the marketing of Team Cherry‘s new game, it was stated that Hollow Knight: Silksong still has some development ongoing and therefore, will require more time to finish and release.

It has not been stated how long the delay will be or if we will even get Hollow Knight: Silksong this year or not. However, some fans suggest that this delay could have been to avoid the competition with the games coming before June 2023, such as Diablo 4 and Baldur Gate’s 3. If that’s the case, then delaying Silksong could be a smart move.

Nonetheless, the fans have waited enough. If you ask me, I am willing to wait more if that’s the price I have to pay for a complete and well-made game. Getting a rushed game that is also full of bugs is not anyone would want to have. So yeah, let’s give the developers the time they need.

It should also be considered that Team Cherry, the indie studio behind Hollow Knight series is a team of just three people.

So, in the end, we can only hope that the Hollow Knight sequel comes to light sooner rather than later, and may it be as good (or even better!) than the original.
