Developed by Avalanche Software, the much-awaited Hogwarts Legacy was finally released on the 10th of February 2023. Within just a day of its release, this game’s positive reviews on Steam skyrocketed to 94%, and quite rightfully so. The game is jam-packed with all the fun stuff like Magical beasts, Characters, Potions, numerous challenges, and collectibles for you to find. Talking about collectibles, one such collectible that we will be anchoring on today is none other than Hogwarts Legacy Grand Staircase Collection Chests.
Not many players are aware of these collection chests and their locations. So for that reason, in this guide, we will be exploring all the exact locations of the Grand Staircase collection chest. So without wasting any time, let’s start finding some chest.
Hogwarts Legacy Grand Staircase Collection Chests
It is highly recommended that you complete the story first so you have all the spells that are required, and some story-related locations are also unlocked for you (Also, consider completing “The man behind the moons” Alohomora quest line). Once you have started your studies at Hogwarts and have joined one of the houses you will be able to locate chests in numerous locations of the castle.
There are in total seven collection chests in Grand Staircase and here are all of their exact locations.
Collection Chest #1
Fast travel to the very first Floo Flames at the left side of the castle. Once you are there, on your back there are stairs heading up. Follow the stairs up, and soon after you will a room. Solve the puzzle to the door, dead inside the room, and right in front of you will be your very first collection chest.
To solve the door puzzle you should have studied the chiper guide. One of the? blocks are on the left side of the door while the other is downstairs on the right of the floo flame. Enter (0) for ? block and (5) for the ?? block using the guide and the door will be unlocked.
Collection Chest #2
Fasty travel to the astronomy wing floo flame, now head towards the stairs going up from the left of floo flame until you find a corridor going right. Take yet another right from the end of the corridor and enter a room on the right.
Once again head up the stairs straight ahead and on the first floor, you will find yet another puzzle door.
Use the chipper guide to solve the puzzle and open the door (one of the blocks is on the left and another one is on the wall on your right). Head upstairs and then to your left you will be able to find the second collection chest. You can use Revelio to make it easier for you to spot.
Collection Chest #3
Make your way to the Raven Claw floo flame, and on your left, you will have yet another puzzle door. Solve the puzzle door using the chiper guide (one of the blocks is on the right wall while another one is on the left next to a guard/knight).
Head inside the room once it’s unlocked and the chest will be right in front of use, you can use Revelio to make it easier for you to spot.
Collection Chest #4
Fast travel to the Grand Staircase tower flow flame, on your back will be an open path as you get close to stairs will start forming for you to head down from. Follow the stairs and at the end on your left you will find yet another puzzle room.
Use the guide chiper to solve the puzzle (One block is on the left at the stairs that you came from and another one is on the wall in front of the door. Head inside the room once the door is unlocked and that’s where your fourth collection chest is located.
Collection Chest #5
Make your way to the trophy room floor flame and move to your right through the corridor. At the end of the corridor, you will find a gate, open it and head upstairs. Keep moving upstairs and soon after you will find a wooden door.
Get inside and you’ll find yourself in a corridor full of dragon-like structures. At the right end of the corridor is yet another gate that can only be unlocked by the key of admittance and here is how you can get it.
Key of admittance: From the wooden door head to the left side and make your way upstairs till you reach a room. On the left, there will be a door right next to a telescope.
Use Alohemora to open the door and once again make your way up the stairs on your right. keep moving upstair till you end up in another room, in this room right next to an old record player is a table on which your key of admittance is located.
Now head back to the corridor that had dragon-like statues, move to the gate that was locked, and use the key to open it. As soon as you enter from the door on your right will be your fifth collection chest.
Collection Chest #6
From the same location where you found chest #5, use the stairs on the left and head upstairs. Soon after you will find yourself in a room with a book at the center. In the very same room, you will find your collection chest #6.
