    What are Gold Prisms

Gold Prisms allow you to permanently enhance one character. This unlocks a new skill tree in their Hero tab, which focuses solely on the Sparks. Gold prisms are highly sought after, yet cannot be purchased. This makes hoarding them difficult and spending them stressful because you can’t retrieve them after using them once.

Make sure to spend your early Prisms on characters you will absolutely use. We found Peach to be a great character throughout and a reliable member of practically any team. She was an excellent choice for a first Gold Prism.

    How to get Gold Prisms

Gold Prisms can be obtained by defeating optional bosses. The first opportunity is to fight the Truly Gigantic Goomba at Beacon Beach’s Sunrise Temple. These bosses are normally guarded by a golden pipe that takes a number of Sparks to open. After beating the boss, you will receive a Gold Prism. Others exist on each planet.

First, obtain a Gold Prism in order to access the Spark Branch. This will grant you access to the Spark Branch. Be careful who you choose, as you can choose only one character and there is no way to reclaim the Gold Prism once it has been spent. These cannot be advanced beyond the initial level.

    • Spark Gift
      • A Spark has a 25% chance to deliver a random item on the first turn.
    • Spark Refresher
      • Each Spark has a 35% chance of avoiding the cooldown after activation.
    • Spark Guard
      • A Spark has a 30% chance of saving a Hero from death.
    • Spark Energy
      • Each Spark has a 25% chance of awarding a new Action Point when used.

Gold Prisms are hidden on each planet behind powerful optional side quests. These quests are hidden behind suspiciously golden warp pipes that can only be unlocked if you have gathered enough Sparks.

Your first Gold Prism encounter is likely to be several levels above your current group level when you initially unlock it. You may need to return a little later to effectively take them on as they can be a little harder to do for beginner-level players.
