True Detective is an American true-crime drama series that follows troubled cops around the USA while investigating homicides. The first episode of the show aired on January 12 2014 on HBO. Every season the show uses a completely different cast. Cary Joji Fukunaga and creator Nic Pizzolatto are the executive producers for the show. This time True Detective stars the Oscar-award-winning actress Jodie Foster. Jodie Foster is an American actress, director, and producer. She has starred in famous movies like The Silence of the Lambs and Taxi Driver.
Jodie Foster will be taking one of the lead roles as Detective Liz Danvers. Season 4 is still under development but here is the official synopsis:
“When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the six men that operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves and dig into the haunting truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.”
This sounds like one of the most promising storylines the show has yet to offer. With Jodie Foster in the lead role, we know that the season has to be a fan favorite.
Foster has been more active in films but this will be one of her greatest roles in TV since she starred in Paper Moon. Moreover, her recent TV appearances include a cameo in X-Files and Simpsons. She also narrated an episode of Makers: Women Who Make America.
Right now, the rest of the cast for True Detective: Night Country is unknown. The co-writers for the script are Issa Lopez and Alan Page.
