Cyberpunk: Edgerunners new NSFW trailer hypes up the fans

On Tuesday, Netflix released a new teaser advertising the upcoming anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, demonstrating how intense it truly is. It does state that the show will premiere on Netflix on September 13 so let’s wait till then. The release date for Netflix’s much-anticipated Cyberpunk: Edgerunners NSFW has been announced, along with a frenetic new trailer.

The series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was announced back in 2020. After two years, the trailer is now released. Netflix did offer a plotline to understand what this series is about.

“The series tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in Night City—a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he stays alive by becoming an edgerunner—a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.”

    The Official Trailer

If you want to watch the trailer, Netflix uploaded the official trailer on their YouTube channel and their website. Here is a glimpse into the world of Edgerunners.

The trailer confirms with its shows of some of the series’ incredibly gruesome scenes. Based on the few glimpses we’ve had of the anime, it’s safe to say the series will not be for light-hearted people, as its new look includes a slew of mature-themed content.

With the posters and Netflix’s own description, we only know about one character, the protagonist hopefully, from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Her name is Lucy and she really is a prominent character in the upcoming anime as she has her face on posters and trailer. Here’s how she is defined:

“The brilliant Lucy, a skilled netrunner and an important member of Maine’s mercenary crew. Despite her highly sought-after technical abilities, she wants nothing more than to escape Night City and her dangerous past.”

    Production

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is produced by Studio Trigger, the developer behind Kill La Kill, Promare, and Little Witch Academia. Akira Yamaoka, the composer of the Silent Hill games will provide the score for the show as previously revealed by CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger. The connection of CD Projekt proves that this series is connected to the game Cyberpunk 2077 or maybe takes place in the same universe.

The concept for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners NSFW is interesting but not really a fresh one. The game Cyberpunk 2077 also went through a lot of trouble at the start so let’s just hope this doesn’t experience the same fate. Let’s see what makes this one stand out.
