During the Gamescom Opening Night Live stream, The Lord of the Fallen team announced the sequel with a cinematic video and a Twitter post, confirming Lord of the fallen returns. The Lords of the Fallen, publisher CI Games confirmed their return to the Dark Souls-style dark fantasy. The trailer seemed like the 2014 action role-playing game version of Lords of the Fallen has gotten an upgrade with many new things added. Some of which are:
- Explore two interconnected worlds
- Completely customize your character
- Online Multiplayer
- A faster version of its predecessor
The Lords of the Fallen is being developed by Hexworks Studio, a CI Games in-house developer. This is after the departure of developer Defiant Studios from the project. The original Lords of the Fallen was launched in 2014 and was created by Deck13. Unfortunately, they later left the franchise and instead developed The Surge and The Surge 2.
About the Game
The first Lords of the Fallen were heavily influenced by Dark Souls, and it appears that this inspiration will lead to this The Lords of the Fallen Sequal. The Lords of the Fallen will take place over 1,000 years after the events of the original game, in a world divided between the realms of the living and the realms of the dead.
The sequel is claimed to have a much more complicated and larger linked universe as well as online co-op support. The fighting system is described as fast, skillful, and fluid. In the news released, it is said that magic is accessible to both deal damage and improve your powers. All these progressing enhancements are opposite to the original game which has a slow progression throughout.
