The livestream of Genshin Impact Luna IV just wrapped up, and the developers finally unveiled a lot of new changes and additions for the game. The livestream has greatly impressed fans across the globe and set the game for an interesting new year. In this article, I will cover all of the announcements that dropped in Genshin Impact Luna IV Livestream.
Genshin Impact is an open-world role-playing game that is an action game made by HoYoverse (previously MiHoYo). In the game, players collect “Characters,” each with a particular Element (like Pyro, Hydro, Electro, etc.) and a weapon type (Sword, Claymore, Bow, etc.), then build teams to explore a vast fantasy world called Teyvat. Characters grow stronger via ascension (raising their level cap), upgrading talents (their main skills), equipping weapons and artifacts, and forming synergy with other characters on the team. Over time, new regions, storylines, and characters are continually added.

The Trailer of this version started slowly, with the Lantern Rite event and sneak peeks of the new skins for Yaoyao and Neuvillette. And a brand new character quickly steals the light, Zibai. Then we go into more new characters for the upcoming version, including one of the most hyped characters since the trailer: The Winter Night’s Lazzo, Columbina.
Following the character gameplays, we are then introduced to the Archon Quests of Version Luna IV, with Dottore being unveiled as a brand new weekly boss, as his crazy experimentations and plans that will put all of Nod-Krai at risk are slowly revealed. Arlecchino, Nicole, Sandrone, Varka, and our Nod-Krai cast gather together, and all help the traveller to defeat Dottore and restore Nod-Krai.

Archon Quest
With the Archon Quest of the previous version ending in a cliffhanger, leaving the fate of Columbina unknown, this Archon Quest will show how Dottore’s experiments have been affecting even Liyue, resulting in the appearance of the adeptus, Zibai, who is closely tied to the moon.
The new Archon Quest looks nothing short of exciting and action-packed. Completing the Archon Quest will reward the players with 500x Primogems and Level-up materials for Columbina.
Additionally, in a new optimisation update, players will now be able to replay previous cutscenes, allowing them to revisit the stories anytime through the new Quest Overview improvements.
Upcoming Characters and Event Wishes
The Upcoming Characters in the Genshin Impact Lunar IV update are Columbina, Zibai, and Illuga.
First Half
Starting with the Event Wishes. Upon the release of the new version, Columbina will run alongside Ineffa. And the weapon banner will feature Columbina’s all-new weapon.
Second Half
In the second half of the version, Neuvillette will be returning, alongside Zibai, and the new 4-star, Illuga, will be featured in both of their Event Wishes. The weapon banner will include the brand-new weapon for Zibai.
Overview of Upcoming Characters
Columbina
The new and most anticipated character of this version is Columbina, a Hydro 5-star Catalyst user. With a stunning and graceful playstyle, she’ll be buffing your characters and turning the reactions Bloom, Electro-charged, and Hydro-crystallise to Lunar Bloom, Lunar Charged, and Lunar Crystallise.
Upon using her elemental skill, she’ll gain a Moonlight Halo. To top it all off, we see her finally open her eyes in the elemental burst. Her burst will make a Lunar Terrain, providing different buffs to characters depending on the reactions taking place. Her passive skill revives a character while in Nod-Krai. Additionally, unlocking her will also open more new interactions and easter eggs which weren’t fully revealed.
Zibai
Zibai is a 5-star Geo Sword user. She is the White Horse adeptus who was previously mentioned in the book Moonlit Bamboo Forest. In the legends, she is described as the Daughter of Time, or even as one of the Moon Maidens, because of her close connections to the Moon. Players can meet her and learn more about her during the new version.
At night, her passive allows her to constantly regenerate Elemental Energy when she’s not in combat. Additionally, she turns all Hydro-Crystallise reactions to Lunar Crystallise.
Illuga
Illuga is a new 4-star Geeo character. He is one of the Ratniks and can understand the language of the Wild Hunt.
His skill allows him to summon a bird, Aedon, to attack enemies, and his elemental burst will buff Geo and Lunar Crystallise damage based on his elemental mastery. Having him in the team will also trigger Lightkeepers’ Oath, which will buff your characters.
New Outfits
After five long years, the developers announced a long-awaited surprise for the players in the form of new outfits for the Traveller, Lumine, and Aether. This outfit will be switching the twins’ colour palettes. It will be available for players once they complete Act VII of the Song of the Welkin Moon.
Not only will this new outfit add more story to their origins, but also buff the Traveller.
Besides that, there will be two more new outfits in lieu of Lantern Rite. A free one for Yaoyao, which can be obtained through the Lantern Rite event, and one for Neuvillette, which can be purchased from the store.
New Artifact Sets
There are two artifact sets announced for the next version, although their full descriptions are missing; one will be for buffing Lunar damages, and the other will be for Hexerei characters.
New Exploration Area
There will be a new area available for exploration in Nod-Krai. Completing exploration in that area will grant players Primogems. The new area will also feature a world quest, where travellers, alongside Illuga, will solve the troubles in the area, while getting to know him better.
This area has the Ratniki Headquarters, due to worse abyssal corruption here, which leads to more Wild Hunt activities. Players will also find the Knights of Favonious fighting here.
New Bosses
There will be two new bosses available.
Dottore will be available as a weekly boss. After he seized the powers of the moons, his power is now equivalent to that of a god. We will quite literally be playing in the palm of his hand, as the domain is the shape of a palm. His boss fight seems much trickier and more confusing than the previous ones. Two of his skills that were revealed were his ability to invert the player’s sense of direction and restore his HP after a heavy blow is dealt.
The other boss is an Open-World boss, who will most likely be used for levelling up the new characters. During combat, he will summon minions who will attack as well. He will be found in the new area.
Events and More
The main event for this version will be A Lantern Lit Ode to the Silver Moon, the Lantern Rite event.
In a new system optimization, players will be able to play the story of the event even after the version ends.
The event will also feature the annual free Liyue 4-star selector.
There will also be various Check-in rewards, as well as rewards players will receive in-game.
Players will also receive a new Manekin for Miliastra Wonderland, which will be a horse costume, to celebrate the Year of the Horse.
Besides that, there will be new cards added to Genius Invocation TCG and more outfits and events in Miliastra Wonderland.
Future Characters
Before ending the livestream, they also announced the future characters players can expect. Of course, the characters won’t be limited to just them, though. This image has sent the whole fandom into an array of confusion because of the character placement, which leaves room for a sixth character whose shadow can be seen as well. Players suspect that this character will be Sandrone, but as of yet, nothing can be said.
Genshin Impact Luna III brought so many new concepts, and Genshin Impact Luna IV looks nothing short of exciting. With so many rewards for players and exciting new characters, this will be the best time for old players to return to the game as well.
