Microsoft has begun testing Xbox Party Chat on your smartphone – via the new ‘Xbox beta’ app

Recently, we have come to know that Microsoft’s redesigned Mixer app is out of beta and currently available on Android. Now, the tech giant has also launched a new “Xbox beta” app – to provide an early peek at “new capabilities”.

This newly introduced beta app is primarily for the testing of Party Chat on your smartphones. Moreover, it is currently only accessible to Android users – being only at the Play Store. Which is unlike the previous Xbox App that is available for both iOS and Android.

Through this app, you would be able to Party Chat with your friends even if you are away from your console. It would also prove to be handy in cross-play gaming, allowing you to communicate with your companions on Android, while you are using your Xbox.

In addition, if you feel like using a headset – which might won’t work with your console, now, you would be able to connect any headset on your phone and use ‘Xbox beta’ for voice chatting with your Xbox Party.

However, it is unknown that when will this beta be finalized and roll out as a feature in the main Xbox App. Microsoft, in fact, never announced anything about this new version. It came to highlight through Reddit users, upon noticing the change in the app’s patch notes.

Furthermore, it is also not revealed that for how long iPhone owners would have to wait to get this update.
