These Pokemons with unique color palettes are exceedingly rare, but there are methods to improve your chances or farm more effectively. What is Shiny Charm
The Shiny Charm is an item you may obtain after completing the Pokedex. It can enhance your chances of getting or encountering a shiny pokemon. It is a mainstay of the last several Pokémon generations and may also be seen in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The Shiny Charm significantly reduces your initial odds of capturing a shiny by a large margin.
The chances of discovering a Shiny Pokemon at the beginning of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are 1 in 4096. Those odds are lowered in half with the Shiny Charm, to 1/2044.
Keep in mind that there are still some shiny pokemon that are not affected by this charm and those are:
- Starters (they are shiny locked)
- Galarian Meowth gift.
- All in-game trades with NPCs.
- The Titan Pokemon
- Gimmighoul chest form.
- None of legendary Pokemon or box legendary pokemons.
How to get Shiny Charm
To obtain the Shiny Charm, you must first complete your Pokedex. To fully complete every entry present in it, you’ll need every legendary, version-exclusive, and evolution. Once you’ve completed all 400 pages, go to Professor Jacq in the region’s Academy in Mesagoze. Talk to him and he’ll give you the Shiny Charm as a reward for collecting all the pokemon. Along with it, you’ll also get a golden diploma which solidifies the fact that you now have the entry of every pokemon in your Pokedex.
If you are having some problem collecting all the pokemon in the area, you can use trading to make your job easy. Connect with a friend and then trade some pokemon you didn’t have. Then after the entry is added, you can just give it back if you want.
There are several other methods of getting the Shiney pokemon but they require a little more grind. For example, you can increase the chances even more by producing Shiny Sandwiches or go for the hatching method.
