Released as early as November 15th, Halo Infinite is the seventh game in the Halo series. With free-to-play multiplayer, Halo Infinite follows the story of Master Chief from Halo 5: Guardians. Some users have complained about the game freezing and crashing with no prior performance issues. We have prepared a list to resolve Halo Infinite crashing issue.
1. Check system requirements

2. Update Graphics Drivers
At times outdated graphics drivers cause the game to freeze and crash. To update your graphics drivers follow the following steps:
- Open Start Menu
- Go to Quick Access Menu
- Open Device Manager
- Navigate to Display adapters
- On Update driver click on Search automatically for drivers
3. Switch to Windowed Mode
Switching to windowed mode from fullscreen can stop the game from crashing. To do that follow the following steps.
- Open Steam
- Go to Library
- Launch Halo: Infinite
- Go to Properties
- Select General
- Navigate to Set Launch Options
- Select -windowed -noborder
4. Disable Async Compute
- Press F1 to open settings
- Go to the Video tab
- Scroll down until you find Async Compute and disable it
5. Uninstall the High Res Textures in your DLC section
- Open Steam
- Go to SteamApps
- Open Common
- Open Halo Infinite
- Delete the .ba2 folder named āDLCHighResolutiontexture..ā
6. Update Halo Infinite
If you havenāt updated the game in a while then follow the steps to update it.
Steam > Library > Halo Infinite > Update
