Fixing WWE 2K22 Crashing Issue and Black Screen Problem

If you are facing crashing or a black screen when you start up WWE 2K22 you may be among many users who are facing the same problem. Fret not, know that the game is fairly new and no game is without its post-launch bugs. We are here with a guide to help you potentially fix the unwanted crashing and freezing.

    Check System Requirements

Firstly, you have to check if your PC can run WWE 2K22 smoothly. That can only happen if your system meets at least the minimum requirements to play the game.

    Minimum

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 7
    • Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 965 (4 * 3400) or equivalent. Intel Core i5-3470 (4 * 3200) or equivalent
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Radeon R7 260X (2048 VRAM) or equivalent. GeForce GTX 760 (2048 VRAM) or equivalent.
    • Storage: 31 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: The Minimum Specification listed allows gameplay experience at 30 FPS on average while using Low graphical settings and 1080p resolution

    Recommended

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10
    • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8 * 3200) or equivalent. Intel Core i7-6950X (10 * 3000) or equivalent
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Radeon RX 5700 (8192 VRAM) or equivalent. GeForce GTX 1080 (8192 MB) or equivalent
    • Storage: 31 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: The Recommended Specification listed allows gameplay experience at 60 FPS on average while using High graphical settings and 1080p resolution

    Run a Clean Boot

After disabling unnecessary tasks from Task Manager clean boot the PC to get the game to stop crashing. You can do that by following the path:

    • Windows Key + R > Search¬†msconfig > Services¬†> Hide all Microsoft services¬†> Startup > Task Manager > Disable the unused tasks > Restart the system

    Turn Off Steam Overlay

To stop the crashing issue the next thing you can try is to turn off the Steam Overlay. You can do that by following the path:

    • Steam Library> Right-click¬†WWE 2K22 > Properties > General¬†> Uncheck the¬†‚ÄúEnable the Steam Overlay while in-game‚ÄĚ

    Update the Graphics Card Driver

Outdated GPU drivers also tend to make the games crash at startup. Update the GPU drivers individually if they require updates other than the Windows update. Both Nvidia’s latest drivers and AMD’s latest drivers can be found on their official websites.

    Update DirectX

DirectX is a vital part of gaming applications and outdated DirectX causes the games to crash at startup. If the game is crashing on startup, you need to update DirectX to the latest version.

    Verify Files Integrity

The last thing you can try is to Verify the File’s Integrity. By doing this the game automatically checks to see if there are any files missing or corrupted and replaces them.
