Sifu is a third-person action game that is available to buy on Epic Games Store. A hand-to-hand combat game mixed with a vengeance-derived plot, what can possibly be more thrilling. Although we can go on about the Kung-Fu and the environmental aspect of the game we can’t overlook some bugs that came with it too such as low FPS, stuttering, frame drops, and as such. Some users have also complained about the Sifu crashing and a black screen showing up in-game before stopping suddenly. We have made a list of possible solutions for Sifu crashing and the black screen issue.
Method # 1: Check Minimum Requirements
If you’re PC cant handle the minimum specifications required to run the game. It might inevitably give up and the game may crash. To counter this check the minimum requirements of the game before buying it to see if your system can even run the game.
OS: Windows 8.1
Processor: AMD FX-4350 or Intel Core i5-3470 or equivalent
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Storage: 22 GB
Windows Graphics: Radeon R7 250 or GeForce GT 640 or equivalent
OS: Windows 10
Processor: AMD FX-9590 or Intel Core i7-6700K or equivalent
Memory: 10 GB RAM
Storage: 22 GB
Graphics: GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon R9 390X or equivalent
Method # 2: Run a clean boot
You can run a clean boot to ensure that no third-party software is interfering with the game’s processes. It will also ensure that no extra resources are being used by the system. You can do that by:
- Press Windows Key + R
- Search msconfig
- Go to Services tab
- Click on Hide all Microsoft services box
- Click on Startup tab
- Open Task Manager
- Disable the unused tasks
- Restart the system
Method # 3: Update the graphics card
If you are running the game on an outdated GPU driver, it will lead to the game crashing at startup. Update both the GPU and sound drivers if they require additional updates besides the Windows update. The game will run smoothly and hopefully crash-free with updated drivers. Both Nvidia’s latest drivers and AMD’s latest drivers can be found on their official websites.
Method # 4: DirectX files issues
DirectX installation can cause a lot of games to crash on startup and Sifu is no exception. If the game is crashing on startup, you need to update DirectX to the latest version.
Method # 5: Verify File Integrity
If there is a problem in installing game files or some of the files are corrupt the game will crash. To repair this you don’t have to reinstall the entire game there is a quick and easy method. Follow these steps
- Go to Epic Games Store
- Go to Library
- Open Sifu
- Click on the three dots (…)
- Click Verify
Wait until the verification completes and relaunch the game to check if it still crashes at launch.
