Errors and disconnecting issues are pretty common in video games, many players have recently reported the same disconnecting issue with Overwatch 2. And if you are also one of those players who are facing the disconnecting issues then worry no more because we got you covered. In this guide, we will help you with fixing Overwatch 2 beta disconnection issue in no time.

Here are some of the quickest fixes that have worked perfectly for other Overwatch 2 players. Keep going through the list till you find the one that works for you.

    1. Reset your network device:

One of the quickest ways to fix the issue is to reset/reboot your modem and it has worked perfectly fine for the majority of the players.

    • Remove any electrical supply to your network device by unplugging it.
    • Keep it unplugged for a minute and if your device has a battery attached to it you will have to disconnect that as well.
    • After one minute, plug it back again.
    • As soon as the device gets back to its normal position, Launch Overwatch 2.

    2. Update your network driver

If you are still facing the issue after rebooting your device then the problem is probably caused because your network driver is not updated, try manually updating your network driver to fix the issue.

    • Go to your network driver manufacturer’s website and look for the latest network driver
    • Contact the manufacturer who can help you assist with the latest network driver
    • Note that even if you have a new computer the network driver can still be outdated since the updates are released regularly.

    3. Optimize your internet connection

Having a bad or slow internet connection can also cause the disconnecting issue to rise in Overwatch 2. You can optimize your internet connection by:

    • Keep your internet device close to your computer to get better signals
    • Make sure that you are using WIFI and not a cellular network or satellite since these are not stable connections.
    • Try plugging your computer directly with the modem.
    • Make sure that not too many devices are connected to the same internet connection as they will interfere with the stability of the internet.

    4. Close any applications running in the background

If you are using any applications that require using the internet to upload and download files then this can also be one of the reasons why your Overwatch 2 is disconnecting. Here’s how to fix it.

    • Press Ctrl, Shift, and Esc at the same time to open the Task Manager and click more details.
    • Right-click the Startup tab on the top bar and all the applications running in the background will now appear.
    • Right-click on every application one by one and select disable.
    • Restart your computer and Launch Overwatch 2 to see if the issue has been resolved.

    5. Renew your IP

To Renew your IP, hold the Windows logo key and press Ctrl, Shift and Enter at the same time. Once you do that right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator, it will now ask for permission, click yes to Run the command prompt. Now type ipconfig /release in the command prompt and press enter. Once the IP address has been released, once again type ipconfig /renew in the command prompt and press enter to complete the renewal process.

    6. Flush your DNS

To Flush DNS, follow the same steps as used for renewal but during the release process instead of ipconfig /release type ipconfig /flushdns and press enter to flush DNS.
