Run a Clean Boot

You can run a clean boot to ensure that no third-party software is interfering with the game’s processes. It will also ensure that no extra resources are being used by the system. You can do that by:

1. Press Windows Key + R
2. Search msconfig
3. Go to Services tab
4. Click on Hide all Microsoft services box
5. Click on Startup tab
6. Open Task Manager
7. Disable the unused tasks
8. Restart the system

Turn off Steam Overlay to fix Elden black screen issue

In order to fix the problem, you can also try turning off Steam Overlay. You can turn it off by the following steps:

1. Right click Elden Ring in Steam Library
2. Click Properties
3. Open General section
4. Uncheck the “Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game” option

Update the graphics card
