Facebook removes the Ticker – the ‘creeper feed’ for monitoring friends’ activities, no longer available

Facebook has been constantly trying to improve itself by adding or removing the features. Back in November, Messenger was updated to allow higher-quality images. This month, we also received a “Messenger Kids” app for the children.

Recently, after being asked for Facebook’s Ticker gone missing, it is announced from a verified community member that the Ticker is gone for good, quoting exactly “this feature is no longer available.”

The Ticker was one of the oldest features of Facebook, launched back in 2011. It used to appear on the right side of your news feed, on the web app, letting you monitor your friends. Through it, you could see your friends’ likes, shares, comments, and other activities on social media.

Being a well-known and old feature, an announcement for its removal was expected. But instead, Facebook made a quiet move, by just mentioning the official removal of the Ticker on the Help Community and then closing down the comments for that post. This happened after the people complaining about the missing Ticker for several weeks.

It is unknown to us that why the Ticker is brought down. Perhaps, Facebook realized that most people are not comfortable with their friends constantly ‘creeping’ on their social activities via this feature. Or, maybe it wasn’t getting much attention lately and the continuous reduction in its engagement, ultimately let the social media giant, decide to make it no longer available.

What do you think about this move by Facebook? Did you find the Ticker useful? Let us know down in the comments. For more on social media and Facebook, stay connected.
