‘Devil May Cry’ is getting a new action game for smartphones – in China

Recently, it has been reported that a Chinese game studio, Yunchang Game, has obtained the IP rights from Capcom to develop a new mobile-based Devil May Cry game. The upcoming entry to the series is titled “Devil May Cry: Pinnacle of Combat”.

Devil May Cry is a well-known hack and slash game from Capcom. It was first intended to be the sequel of Resident Evil – also an acclaimed series by the same studio. However, during its development, it varied quite a lot from the aforementioned series’ gameplay and style that eventually it became a video game of its own. The latest entry of the Devil May Cry series, called DmC, was developed by Ninja Theory – an independent game studio in Cambridge. It was initially released on 15 January 2013.

Now, we will be getting another game of Devil May Cry, just for smartphones. The game is powered by the cross-platform game engine, Unity 3D. It would be focused on the combat system. As confirmed by MMO Culture, the new title would have online modes, including the team battles and real-time PvP.

Below are the first in-gameplay screenshots of the game. It is noteworthy that the video game is currently in development, so the final results could be different from the following images.

Devil May Cry: Pinnacle of Combat, will launch in China. There hasn’t been any announcement for the international release, as of yet. The game is expected to come out next year, in 2018.
