Both developed and published by Sharkmob, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt is a free-to-play battle royale game. Released on 27th April 2022, the game is newly released. However, an early access version of the game was released for Microsoft Windows on September 7 2021. The game takes place in the streets of Prague, the World of Darkness. Following a vampire gathering in the city after which a war between vampire sects broke out, the players can take the roles of vampires to survive. Its gameplay is very unique and players can compete in multiplayer matches. In this article, we will tell you about Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt beginners guide.
When you start off with the game you find yourself in the Elysium. It is a waiting room which is constructed like a cathedral before starting a match. It is like a social hub where you can also interact with other players. You will also be able to choose your game mode here and even be able to customize your character.
The Spawn System
When you find a match, the first thing you do is to choose your spawn point on the map. You simply pick a location and within a small radius you can see if other players will be spawning nearby. If you are in squad mode, each member will pick a spawn point separately. It is up to you if you want to start with being close to each other or you want to spread out. You can change the location as much as you want within the countdown. At the end of the countdown, the positions of all the players get revealed on the map to give you an overview of the potential hotspots.
After location, you will have to pick one of the archetypes. These archetypes have different passive and active abilities. You can also customize the way your archetype looks in the main menu while you are in the Elysium.
First of all, scan your surroundings for the loot locations by pressing X. There are different locations on the ground and on the rooftops where you are going to find weapons, gadgets, armour and health. Normal loot locations where you can pick up the items from the ground appear with a blue glowing fog. Another location is the vans. There are different vans including the orange van, the police vans and ambulances for different items.
Weapons, Health, and Armor
The key point of the Bloohunt beginners guide is the weaponry and vitality. The weapons that can be found are similar to other games which include shotguns, pistols, assault rifles, sniper rifles, gas grenade launchers, and many more. Armour is an important part of the game but it is a bit rare especially when you are at the end of the match. Simply pick it up and go ahead and equip it to gain more resistance against enemy fire.
Once you receive damage, you will have to heal yourself manually by using blood bags and syringes. Blood bags give you more health but take longer to use while syringes give you a little health but are faster to use. Another way to refill the health bar is to feed on the humans down the street. However, this should be preferred out of combat as it takes time.
If you scan your surroundings you can see humans with different coloured auras. These are the humans with resonant blood. If you feed on these humans you will receive one of the four resonancies for the match depending on the aura’s colour. Each resonance type can be upgraded at three levels but you have three slots in total at least at the beginning of the match.
By diablerizing, you can unlock more slots during the match. This can be done with other vampires when you have downed them. Even if you play solo or in squad mode enemies will always be downed and not immediately killed. So either kill them will a weapon or diablerize them with a short animation.
One of the biggest parts of the game is the Bloodhunt. A Bloodhunt starts when one of the players breaks the masquerade. This is a set of rules created by one of the vampire sects to ensure that the vampires’ existence remains a secret to the humans. This includes not being caught while sucking blood or shooting humans. If you are not careful enough you will get caught and get revealed on everyone’s map for 60 seconds. Also, you start the Bloodhunt by yourself either accidentally or on purpose.
