Warner Bros and HBO Max have awestruck their fans with the news of movie cancellation. The movie was announced last year to star Leslie Grace as the female lead role of Batgirl movie. The American singer and actress Leslie Grace was announced as the Gotham knight beside Michael Keaton as Batman for the next DC movie. The cancellation news was not easy to digest for its fans as they have been waiting for it to release.
Last year, the star of In the Heights Leslie Grace was the new future member of the DC movie in the role of Barabara Gordan. She was a self-made hero who crafted her costume and took to an oath to protect Gotham from villains just her father James Gordan, the police commissioner.
This news of a new female star in the DC league made fans excited about it as she was last seen in Batman Returns(1992). Even more shocking news was that the movie ‘Batgirl’ was almost completed and was in the progress of screen tests. The directors Arbi and Fallah have no words to share their disappointment in the decision by DC management.
They said “We still can’t believe it. As directors, it is crucial to show our work to the audiences, and while the movie was far from finished, we wish our fans from around the world would have had the opportunity to see and embrace the final film themselves”.

I feel blessed to have worked among absolute greats and forged relationships for a lifetime in the process! To every Batgirl fan – THANK YOU for the love and belief, allowing me to take on the cape and become, as Babs said best, ‘My own damn hero!’ Batgirl for life.”
She also shared the BTS images which indicate her cheerful times on the set and her impressive costume. But her statement didn’t show any clue about any future appearance of the character.
Finally, Warner Bros. Discovery has refused to release a movie with a $90 million budget and worthy efforts of the crew. A Warner Bros. Pictures spokesperson has stated that “The decision to not release Batgirl reflects our leadership’s strategic shift as it relates to the DC universe and HBO Max. Leslie Grace is an incredibly talented actor and this decision is not a reflection of her performance“.
